The majority of people are visual creatures. That is to say, we learn best when we can process information based on what we see. The old cliché that a picture is worth a thousand words is true for most people. Teachers who use great pictures, info graphics, diagrams, or even stories with narrative images help their students take in new information much more easily. If you have ever sat through one of those PowerPoint presentation in which every slide contains nothing but bullet points of text, you will know the pain of trying to learn in this way. When we present to an audience, most people will be taking notice of what we look like much more than what we actually say.
