Employment

To be considered for teaching positions at the International School of Helsinki all applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  1. Minimally a Bachelor's Degree in Education (Master's Degree preferred)
  2. Teacher Certification/Licensure
  3. Minimally two full years of teaching experience post degree and certification (PYP, MYP and DP experience preferred)

Full time High School Mathematics Teacher
The International School of Helsinki is seeking to employ an educator who is experienced teaching high school mathematics from 1 August 2015-1 June 2017. This is a fixed two year contract.
The ideal applicants must have at least a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university with Teaching Qualifications and be able to demonstrate profiency in speaking, reading and writing in English. Experience of the IB programme is an advantage as well as experience with High School students. More details of the job description will be given at the interview.

Full time High and Middle School Biology teacher
The International School of Helsinki is seeking to employ an educator who is experienced teaching high school Biology and middle school general Science starting from 1 August 2015.
The ideal applicants must have at least a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university with Teaching Qualifications and be able to demonstrate proficiency in speaking, reading and writing in English. Experience with the IB programme is an advantage as well as experience with Middle and High School students. More details of the job description will be given at the interview.

Full time High and Middle School English as an Additional Language teacher
The school is seeking to employ an educator who is experienced teaching high and middle school English as an Additional Language starting from 1 August 2015.
The ideal applicants must have at least a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university with Teaching Qualifications and be able to demonstrate proficiency in speaking, reading and writing in English. Experience of the IB programme is an advantage as well as experience with Middle and High school students. More details of the job description will be given at the interview.

Accountant
The school is seeking an Accountant. The Accountant is a member of the Business Office Team and reports to the school Business Manager. He/She is in charge of school accounts and financial reports, invoicing and payroll and related tax reports. He/She will help families in invoice-related questions and staff with pay and taxation. We aer hoping the chosen accountant will take a role in further developing our accounting related IT systems. He/She acts as a part of Business Office Team, supporting the team in their efforts.

Education, experience and qualifications:
- Secondary/vocational degree in accounting/book keeping, or the equivalent
- Good knowledge of Finnish accounting act and other applicable laws
- Experience in book keeping and financial statements; payroll experience preferred (TIKON experience would be an asset)
- Flexibility and customer service approach
- Good interpersonal skills, both in Finnish and English
- Good organizational skills
The position is 4 days/week, study leave replacement until 28.02.2016. There is a possibility that the position will become permanent after this period.
