To be considered for teaching positions at the International School of Helsinki all applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  1. Minimally a Bachelor's Degree in Education (Master's Degree preferred)
  2. Teacher Certification/Licensure
  3. Minimally two full years of teaching experience post degree and certification (PYP, MYP and DP experience preferred)

Current Open Positions:

 Educational Assistant for Kindergarten 1

The school is seeking to employ a fulltime Educational Assistant for the Kindergarten 1 class (4 years old students) from 2 November 2015 - 3 June 2016. The ideal applicant must have at least a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university with a Teaching Qualification. Applicants must be able to demonstrate proficiency in speaking, reading and writing in English. Experience with young children is desirable. Two Cleaning and Maintenance Team Members

The school is seeking to employ two Cleaning and Maintenance Team members. The positions will be part of the Facilities Team and report to School Facilities Manager and Business Manager. Their main area of responsibility is maintaining and improving the cleaning of the school on a daily basis, as well as doing ‘deep’ cleaning when teachers and students are not present. The work will include outdoor and indoor maintenance work and security duties in the building.

 Desired education, experience and qualifications:

  • Good knowledge of cleaning
  • General aptitude for practical skills
  • Good level of general fitness
  • Friendly customer service approach and helpfulness
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English and Finnish
  • Sensitivity to an international environment

The position is full time, 5 days/week, starting 1.1.2016. Usually work time will be evenings. These positions are for one year initially with the potential to become permanent at the end of the year.
